Want Speed?

Want Speed?

It's not hard to spot Marvin Bracy's talent on the football field, so it isn't difficult to see why several of the top college coaches in the country have already extended him scholarship offers. The junior from Boone High School (Orlando, Fla.) will likely be one of the top prospects wide receiver prospects in the Southeast.

Notre Dame hasn't extended Marvin Bracy (5-foot-9, 160-pounds) a scholarship offer as of yet, but if the Irish want to add speed in their 2012 recruiting class, Bracy wouldn't be a bad prospect to add. Bracy has a personal best 10.41 100 meters and a 21.21 200 meters.

"I've gotten a lot of letters from them," Bracy responded when asked if he had heard from the Notre Dame coaching staff. "I am interested in anyone who is interested in me right now.

"I'd be willing to play anywhere. It would be pretty different (playing in the North), but I told my mom that it would be good to adapt to another climate, even though I'm from down South. I plan on going to the NFL, so I'm going to have to play in those kinds of conditions. It's better to adapt now, than when I get there and have more to get used to."

There's a little time between now and when Bracy will be in the NFL, but there are more than a few college coaches that would like to see him in their 2012 recruiting class.

"I think I have about six offers; Ole Miss, Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Florida, and Texas A&M," Bracy said. "There are a lot of schools that are showing interest in me, but they haven't offered, like South Carolina, LSU, Rutgers, N.C. State and East Carolina.

"I've gone on a couple unofficial visits. I went to a Florida State football game. I went to the Miami-Florida State football game. I plan on going to a Florida football game. I know that all of my official visits will be out of state. "

Although Bracy already has several top scholarship offers, that doesn't mean he is going to get out and compete in combines and camps next summer.

"I still feel that I have something to prove," Bracy explained. "I want to show people what I got. I'm going to do the Nike combine and probably only do one or two college camps, because I'll still be running track over the summer. I didn't go to any camps last summer because I ran track all summer."
