Grant to look at ND
"I'm going to take an official over there, sometime in January," Grant said. "I camped there (Notre Dame) my freshman and sophomore years and I went there for a couple football games, so I already have enough information about Notre Dame from those visits.
"I'm pretty informed about the school, so I really just need to get to know coach Kelly and the new staff that's there. I basically want to get more information about them and see what they're like.
"Coach Hinton came out to see me at school and I talk to coach Warinner on a weekly basis," he said. "So I just want to sit down with coach Kelly and see what's going on."
Grant had a scholarship offer from Charlie Weis, but early in the process the current Notre Dame staff didn't pursue him. With a couple spots still open for their 2011 class, the Irish are happy to hear the Grant is willing to listen.
"This past month they've been coming at me pretty hard," Grant explained. "They're not really too far behind though, because I'm familiar with the school, I just have to get familiar with their coaching staff.
"I don't hold any grudges, because if there's a reason for me to decide to go there, it could be one of the best decisions of my life. It could be the best place for me and really set my life straight, so I need to check it out. I'm going to look at everybody, take my time and see what schools best for me."
Grant is in the heart of Buckeye country and there are rumors swirling that Ohio State will likely get his signature, but Doran is going to keep the door open for more than just Notre Dame.
"I just want to give every school a chance," he explained. "Ohio State, Michigan State, USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, Iowa… I want to give all those teams a chance. I need to see which place is best for me. I'm not going to commit to Ohio State, because all the Buckeye fans in Northeast, Ohio want me to go there.
"Am i considering Ohio State? Of course, because it's a good institution. I'm also highly considering Michigan State, USC and Notre Dame, and Iowa and Penn State.
Grant was at Ohio State last weekend on an unofficial visit, and will make his first official visit this weekend.
"Michigan State will be my first visit this weekend," he said. "I'll visit Notre Dame, OSU and USC. I'm still trying to decide between Michigan Iowa and PSU for my last visit."
