Despite his commitment to Michigan
, the change of coaches at the Big Ten program has Traverse City (Michigan) offensive lineman Jake Fisher
keeping his options open. What is the 6-foot-7, 273-pound offensive lineman's thought on Notre Dame
"I grew up a Notre Dame fan," Fisher told Irish Eyes. "Notre Dame has shown interest, and I do not want to exclude them as they are a great school and a very prestigious school. Early on they did not offer me a scholarship because they said they only had one left or something. So I do not know yet what their interest is."
Fisher makes it clear he is still 100% committed to Michigan and giving the school a chance to get a new head coach in place before making any decision. However, when he talks about what he is looking for in a school, Notre Dame looks as if it would fit the bill.
"I'm still committed to Michigan, but I want to have a Plan A and a Plan B, so I feel comfortable. I am trying to stay loyal to Michigan while they go through the process. My goal is to find a school that will push you and to make sure you have success after my career."
While there is no visit to Notre Dame set, Fisher said he would look at the Irish if they have serious interest. Irish Eyes know if anything changes.
A verbal pledge since July to Michigan, Jake Fisher is now trying to stay positive and committed to the Wolverines, however, he is still open to looking at other programs. Could Notre Dame be one of those who come and try to earn his pledge? We get the latest.
Michigan pledge still committed but keeping options open.
