All Irish: Stephon Tuitt

Breathe easy, Irish fans: Stephon Tuitt finalized his recruiting saga when he faxed a LOI to Brian Kelly's Irish Wednesday morning.

Stephon Tuitt (DE – 6'5/252): Joins a position group with a pair of returning starters (Ethan Johnson and Kapron Lewis-Moore) who have logged 50 career starts and 63 combined games played…Will compete with redshirt-senior Hafis Williams, sophomore Kona Schwenke, and at least three (if not four) incoming classmates at the position…The most highly touted prospect among members of the class that will arrive in South Bend in June….Purported versatility would serve as a key skill set for Tuitt or any incoming defensive end prospect as the Irish line kicks down to a four-man front often over the course of a contest.

Kelly recruiting profile: Power
Returning defensive ends: Bruce Heggie, Ethan Johnson, Kapron Lewis-Moore, Kona Schwenke, Hafis Williams (also NG)

Baumhower on Tuitt: He walked 11 miles to school the first day of workouts his freshman year. That should tell you all you need to know about his desire to be successful.

Berk on Tuitt: A raw player who could stay on the edge or put his hand down in the middle. Once he gets more coaching under him, he will have a chance to be one of the top players in the country. Will need some work in the strength program
