Report: Floyd arrested

Record-setting wide receiver Michael Floyd was arrested and charged with DUI early Sunday morning.

WSBT.com reported early Monday morning that Notre Dame star receiver Michael Floyd was arrested by Notre Dame Security Police at approximately 4 a.m. Sunday.

According to the report, Floyd was arrested on campus and posted a $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court May 2.

Floyd, the team's MVP last year and one of two captains for 2011, was also cited for underage drinking just over 14 months ago in Minneapolis over the 2010 Christmas break, an incident that involved a physical altercation.

While that matter was handled internally, a second offense could bring more wide-ranging repercussions for Floyd and his teammates entering the 2011 spring session and possibly the upcoming football season.

Irish Eyes will have more on the incident after head coach Brian Kelly's press conference Wednesday afternoon.
