"The rain was a little bit of a hassle," Turner told Irish Eyes on Sunday night. "But other than that it was a nice experience to see Notre Dame in their spring game."
With his recruitment being headed up by Mike Elston, Turner likes the fact Notre Dame has been up front and honest in what they are looking for.
"Coach Elston is a cool guy and a real good guy to talk to. He has told me they need to see me in person this summer and want to see me run in their camp. If I run well in camp they would look at offering me."
Knowing he will need to open eyes with his forty times, Turner knows he is close to hitting the number needed to open some eyes.
"I have run the forty in 4.58, but I am working to run a low 4.5 to a high 4.4 by camp."
Besides his forty, John feels he needs to work on his overall technique as a corner so he can do a better job of shutting down receivers.
As for what impresses him most about the Irish program, John knows education is the key.
"The academics offered by Notre Dame really impress me. The coaching staff and atmosphere on campus makes Notre Dame a great college."
With plans to attend summer camp, John Turner knows he could be on the outside looking in with Notre Dame. However, he is determined to be ready when camp rolls around in June to impress the Irish coaches.
