Kimbrow Still Visiting South Bend Thursday?

Brian Kimbrow

Memphis (Tenn.) East High four-star running back Brian Kimbrow visited a handful of schools in the last few weeks, and he is set to visit Notre Dame on Thursday. However, the trip may be postponed, and IrishEyes.com asked Kimbrow if that was a sign his interest in the Irish was waning.

Memphis (Tenn.) East High four-star running back Brian Kimbrow plans on making it to Notre Dame this summer, but the expense of a four-campus swing in the last few days could chance his time frame.

Kimbrow and teammate Will Redmond both hold offers from the Irish and both are slated to be on campus Thursday but after trips to Miami, Florida State, Ole Miss, North Carolina and Clemson, the roadie to South Bend, Ind., is in jeopardy.

"We have to see because we just came off a big road trip and we have to see how much money we have," the 5-foot-9, 170-pound Kimbrow said. "I have to talk to my coach. I don't know yet if we're making the trip. I plan on going there at some point."

Regardless of what happens in the next few days, the speedy Kimbrow said his interest in the Irish remains high.

"It's very important for me to see the school," he said. "It's one of the schools I like. I have serious interest in them. I would love to go up there and see what it is like."

Because Kimbrow spent so much time on the road recently, his contact with the Irish staff has been limited. But he knows how much Notre Dame likes him, and how the Irish could use his sub-4.3 speed in the 40-yard dash in their spread offense.

"I haven't talked to them lately because I've been on the road," Kimbrow said. "They said don't have many running backs and I can go in and play good, and they have high expectation for me. I'm interested in them. I just have to go up and visit the campus."

His trip to the midwest is not only to visit Notre Dame.

"I'm just going to Notre Dame and Cincinnati," he said. "But I have to check on my plans and see when it will happen."

To this point, Kimbrow is not listing any favorites, and is uncertain whether he will make a decision before or after the season.

"I liked Miami. It's my childhood favorite school, but I don't have (any favorites)," Kimbrow said. "By the end of next month I should have everything sorted out."
