Alabama Running Back Has 14 Offers

Running Back Prospect

Max Martin hails from Bob Jones high school in Madison, AL. The 6-2, 215-pound running back rushed for 1, 069 yards and 138 carries and eight touchdowns last year. He also played some linebacker on defense. Most schools are recruiting him as a running back. Are the Irish in the race for this top prospect? </P>

Max Martin has 14 offers from some of the top programs in the country right now. "Michigan, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia, LSU, Vanderbilt, Iowa State, Georgia Tech, Olse Miss, Mississippi State, Louisville, UAB and Arkansas have offered me so far," said Martin. "I also received calls from all of those schools and a few more."

Martin is also qualified with a 2.4 in his core G.P.A and scored and 24 on his ACT and 1070 on his SAT.

Education is important to Martin. "I need to get my education so that will be the most important thing to me. I am looking for a school who is tops in both academics and athletics. I want to go to a school that is going to win and I will look for a place where I can play early."

The Irish have stopped by his school. "They came by to watch my tape but I haven't heard from them yet. That was the first time I've heard from them. I've always followed them and they have a very reputable school. I would be interested if they started recruiting me."

Michigan seems to be the team most on his mind right now. "Michigan is my favorite," said Martin. "I've always dreamed of playing for Michigan but I want to look at some other schools. I will probably commit early and Michigan is my top school. I just want to make sure it's the right school for me."

Martin says he has no set plans for this summer but will probably take a few visits to some schools.

Comments. Michigan is clearly the team to beat here. The Irish will have to get into this race quickly if they want to be considered.
