Stanley #16 for Irish

Irish Eyes were smiling Thursday afternoon as Brian Kelly added to his 2012 recruiting class with a verbal pledge from OL Ronnie Stanley. Stanley gives the Irish 16 verbal commitments to date with National Signing Day fast approaching. four-star (#14 overall) offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley of Las Vegas (NV) Bishop Gorman High School ended his recruitment Thursday with a verbal pledge to the University of Notre Dame.

Stanley, who stands 6-foot-6, 285-pounds, took his official visit to Notre Dame this past weekend and soon after ended a dry spell since the Irish last received a pledge (William Mahone joined the class in late September.

Stanley has a great frame to build upon and can play guard or tackle at the next level. He joins Taylor Decker of Vandalia (Ohio) Butler High School and Mark Harrell of Charlotte (NC) Catholic as tackles in the class. will have more on Stanley's commitment coming soon.
