St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) offensive tackle Sunny Odogwu
started playing football this season, and by late in the year he held offers from West Virginia
and was getting strong interest from Notre Dame
The Nigerian-born Odogwu is planning an official visit to Notre Dame next month, and in these cut-ups from his season finale against Severn (Md.) High it is easy to see why he is getting strong interest.
Although Odogwu is raw and needs to play with a lower pad level and do a better job with his hands and arms, his athleticism is superb and when he latches onto a block, his legs pump quickly and he is able to drive a defender backward.
Given Odogwu has spent only four months playing football, he is advanced for his experience and he has a hunger to learn and improve.
Sunny Odogwu just finished his first season on football, and at at 6-foot-8, 280 pound he is athlete but raw. He holds offers from Miami and West Virginia and he is getting a hard look from Notre Dame, which he plans to visit in January. IrishEyes.com has game cut-ups of his season finale, and they show enormous potential.
