OLB Anzalone Grabs Notre Dame Offer

Alex Anzalone

Notre Dame continued to reach out to Pennsylvania prospects Friday when Wyomissing (Pa.) Area High standout Alex Anzalone secured an offer from the Irish. He let IrishEyes.com know what it meant.

One of the top prospects in the northeast region has seen his offer list expand quickly, and the latest school to come through with an offer was Notre Dame.

The Irish offered the 6-foot-3, 220-pound Alex Anzalone on Friday, and it is one he coveted. So much so he is making plans to visit the campus next month.

"Notre Dame is a great school academically," he texted to IrishEyes.com. "They football is top notch and has a very rich tradition. I'm looking forward to visiting, hopefully sometime in March."

The offer is the latest in an impressive string for the central Pennsylvania standout. He was offered by Ohio State, Michigan State, South Carolina, West Virginia and Alabama in the last week.

"Alabama is definitely a huge offer for me because of the quality of football they have going on down there," the 6-foot-3, 220-pound Anzalone said. "Also, from speaking to (Alabama) coach Saban, I've learned that they have a lot to offer academically as well.

"This is a big one."
