Montelus Commits to Notre Dame

Notre Dame picked up its fifth offensive lineman of the 2013 class when John Montelus of Everett (Mass.) High chose the Irish.

John Montelus left a mid-week trip to Florida with the Gators in the lead. He is leaving a three-day trip to Notre Dame as the newest member of the Irish's 2013 class.

The 6-foot-5, 295-pound Montelus told IrishEyes.com he committed to Notre Dame after the Blue-Gold game.

"I committed," he said. "I just did it."

He joins Hunter Bivin, Mike McGlinchey, Steven Elmer and Colin McGovern as offensive line commitments. He is a four-star and rated the No. 2 in Scout.com's No. 2-rated guard in the class.

The commitment means Notre Dame is done with its offensive line recruiting for the class.
