Of Notre Dame
's 19 committed prospects, 11 are on the offensive side of the ball.
The Irish are filled at quarterback, tight end, offensive line and running back, but remain in the mix for another receiver and a multi-purpose running back.
The Irish filled a need in late July when former Texas A&M commit, Jamel James of Cinco Ranch High (Katy, Texas) committed despite never setting foot on campus. That will come during the season when he makes an official visit, likely for the Sept. 22 game against Michigan.
The remaining targets on the offensive side of the ball for the 2013 class are concentrated, and IrishEyes.com takes a look at where Notre Dame stands with the running backs holding offers.
Tarean Folston, RB, 5-10, 190, Cocoa (Fla.) High
Folston was hoping to visit Notre Dame over the summer but it never materialized. An official visit could happen, but one is yet to be scheduled. Getting him out of the southeast will be difficult, and it is not a pressing need for the Irish.
Khalfani Muhammad, RB, 5-7, 160, Notre Dame High, Sherman Oaks, Calif.
The Irish became heavily involved with Muhammad when they extended an offer in June, and the scat back is showing plenty of interest. He plans on making an official visit during the season although he is yet to set up a date.
He visited a few schools in the Pac-12, including UCLA, USC, Washington and California, and said he really likes the conference. He is also an accomplished sprinter in track and could be a dual-sport guy in college.
Editor's note: Other uncommitted running backs holding offers and being recruited by Notre Dame but Greg Bryant, David Williams and Taquan Mizzell are no longer considering the Irish.
Notre Dame has 19 committed players for the 2013 class, leaving little room for more. Still, there are needs to be filled and IrishEyes.com take a look at the remaining areas of need, and the series begins with a look at the running backs.
