FOX Sports West features four games per week streamed live on the internet

other news and notes across the Southland. Here is a look at this week's action
on FOX Sports West's Prepzone.
Servite (11-2) @ Bishop Amat (6-5)

Servite was ambushed in the second round of the playoffs in 2011 after surviving
the Trinity League gauntlet undefeated. The Friars look to get the 2012 campaign
started with a good out of league match up with Bishop Amat who was hammered by
Servite 49-14 in 2011. Servite must find a replacement for quarterback Cody Pittman, and junior Neil Pauu (BYU) looked like the front runner this summer.
The new quarterback's transition will be eased by a pair of terrific running
backs in senior Charlie Etiaki (Utah) and junior Andrew Moore.
Bishop Amat must also fill some holes including losing leading rusher Jalen
Moore and quarterback Rio Ruiz, who signed with the Houston Astros. Two way
standout Darren Andrews (Duke) plays receiver and cornerback for the Lancers.
6'4 receiver Joseph Cook could be a break out star for Bishop Amat this year as
well.
Serra (8-3) @ Notre Dame (6-4)

Notre Dame got off to a fast start in 2011 including a 35-13 win over Serra
in the season opener before losing four of its last five games and missing the
playoffs. A young Serra team improved as the season went on, winning its last
five games before getting knocked out in the first round by upstart Culver City.
Notre Dame returns a lot of firepower on offense including running back Khalfani Muhammad, who gained 1,100 yards as a junior. Quarterback Kelly Hilinski is a
big dropback passer who needs to be more consistent as a senior after throwing
eight touchdowns against eight interceptions. Up front Notre Dame has two big
senior linemen in Kyle Sulka (SDSU offer) and Leroy Tanoai (Utah).
Serra will be looking for some payback from last year's shellacking, and the
Cavaliers have a lot of talent, even if much of it is in the junior class.
Junior defensive back Adoree Jackson is one of the top prospects in Southern
California regardless of year. Quarterback Jalen Green drew a lot of praise
during the spring camp circuit, and linebacker Dwight Williams has already
picked off offers from Colorado and UCLA.
Arroyo Grande (13-1) @ Lompoc (14-0)

Lompoc handed Arroyo Grande its only loss as the two teams each won their
respective CIF Championships. However, the two teams may be trending in
different directions as Arroyo Grande lost a core of talent to graduation while
Lompoc returns virtually everyone from its 14-0 squad.
Lavon Coleman (Washington) is one of the more under-appreciated 4-Star prospects
in the country. Seemingly an afterthought in a state that including Justin Davis
(USC), Coleman quietly ran for over 2,000 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior.
His partner in the backfield Tony Cornejo, also broke 1,000 yards. For good
measure A.J. Florez added 400 yards rushing as a sophomore. Yes, he's back too.
Chaminade was the only team (other than Lompoc) to get within 10 points for
Arroyo Grande as they steamrolled their way to the CIF Western Division
Championship, but with only three starters back on defense and nine total,
beating Lompoc in Week 0 is a tall order. Linebacker Chris Addy and defensive
back Elijah Holt lead the defense while a young offense gets seasoned.
Muir (8-5) @ Upland (12-1)

Upland's undefeated season was halted by Vista Murrieta in the third round of
the Inland Division playoffs. The Highlanders lost a lot of talent off of the
2011 squad including receiver Kenny Lawler (Cal), running back Donta Abron
(Colorado), and defensive end Christian Powell. But Upland returns a solid
nucleus of players as well including defensive end Joe Mathis and quarterback
Nate Romine. Upland's defense should be solid even with the loss of Powell as
Mathis steps up and cornerback Delvin Batiste (SDSU) and safety James Johnson
man the defensive backfield.
Quarterback Joshua Muema-Washington returns at quarterback having thrown for
over 600 yards and eight touchdowns in only three games in 2011. Junior wide
receiver Terry Wilson is poised for a big season as Muir looks to throw early
and often this season.
