’s committed members of the 2013 and 2014 classes fared over the weekend:
Archbishop Alter High (Kettering, Ohio) quarterback
Malik Zaire
and his team had a bye.
Cretin-Derham Hall (St. Paul, Minn.) receiver
James Onwualu
scored on a 19-yard run and also ran for a 4-yard touchdown in a 17-16 loss to Mounds View.
Bishop Luers High (Fort Wayne, Ind.) linebacker
Jaylon Smith
carried 10 times for 56 yards and had two catches for 26 yards in a 20-3 loss to Whitmer.
Middle linebacker
Michael Deeb
of American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) made 13 tackles in a 30-27 loss to Bolles.
Bishop Hartley High (Columbus) tight end
Jacob Matuska
had a 25-yard touchdown catch, a 10-yard reception and seven tackles in a 50-7 win against East Knox.
Apollo High (Owensboro, Ky.) offensive lineman
Hunter Bivin
and his team had a bye.
Midland (Mich.) High offensive lineman
Steven Elmer
played offensive line in a 7-0 win over Heritage.
Absegami High (Absecon, N.J.) athlete
Rashad Kinlaw
did not play in a 37-29 loss to St. Joe’s-Hammonton as he recovers from ankle surgery.
Mead (Spokane, Wash.) outside linebacker
Danny Mattingly
was part of a strong defensive effort and had a 59-yard touchdown receptions in a 47-6 win against North Central.
Colin McGovern
of Lincoln-Way High (New Lenox, Ill.) played on the offensive line in a 49-14 win against Thornridge.
Cinco Ranch (Katy, Texas) running back
Jamel James
did not play because of a hamstring injury in a 28-24 win against Cy-Ridge.
Barron Collier (Naples, Fla.) tight end
Mike Heuerman
did not play because of an ankle injury in a 12-0 win against Westminster Christian. He is expected to play next week.
William Penn Charter (Philadelphia) opened the season with a 30-0 win against Samuel Fels and offensive tackle
Mike McGlinchey
had a strong game.
Roman Catholic (Philadelphia) receiver
Will Fuller
had a 59-yard touchdown catch in a 42-20 loss to Downingtown East.
Woodberry Forest (Va.) linebacker
Doug Randolph
did not play because of a foot injury in a 28-19 loss to Benedictine.
Class of 2014 receiver
Justin Brent
of Indianapolis (Ind.) Speedway made eight catches for 196 yards and three touchdowns in a 62-38 loss to Cardinal Ritter.
Class of 2014 linebacker Greer Martini of Woodberry Forest (Va.) School played linebacker in a 28-19 loss to Benedictine in the season opener.
