Danny Mattingly is an intriguing prospect because of his versatility as a tight end, defensive end or outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense, and the Notre Dame commit from Mead Senior High (Spokane, Wash.) showed some of his ability during the first few games of the season.

Is Danny Mattingly an outside linebacker in Notre Dame's 3-4 defense? Or is he a defensive end? Or can he even play tight end?

At this point the Mead Senior High (Spokane, Wash.) standout is set to play on defense, but his blocking ability and physical style suggest he can also play on offense.

Mattingly, a Notre Dame commit, is off to a strong start and has film of his first few games.
