’s committed members of the 2013 and 2014 classes fared over the weekend:
Archbishop Alter (Kettering, Ohio) quarterback
Malik Zaire
threw three touchdowns in a 56-6 win against Purcell-Marian.
Everett (Mass.) High offensive lineman
John Montelus
played on the offensive line in a 19-7 win against St. John’s Prep to move to 3-0.
Wyomissing (Pa.) Area linebacker
Alex Anzalone
made 10 tackles, including a sack, and rushed 11 times for 58 yards in a four scores in a 35-0 win against Blue Mountain.
Cretin-Derham Hall (St. Paul, Minn.) receiver
James Onwualu
had four touchdowns in a 34-33 loss to Hastings.
San Antonio (Texas) Christian receiver
Corey Robinson
made nine catches for 229 yards and three scores in a 49-42 win against Blanco.
Bishop Luers High (Fort Wayne, Ind.) linebacker
Jaylon Smith
continued to play well on defense and spear-headed a 27-0 win against Concordia, which had 23 yards of offense.
Middle linebacker
Michael Deeb
of American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) made an official visit to Notre Dame since his school had a bye.
Bishop Hartley High (Columbus) tight end
Jacob Matuska
made one catch for 16 yards in a 56-6 defeat of Fairland.
Apollo High (Owensboro, Ky.) offensive lineman
Hunter Bivin
saw his squad drop to 1-4 with a 42-16 loss to Graves County.
Midland (Mich.) High’s
Steven Elmer
played on the offensive line in a 41-34 win against Mt. Pleasant to push Midland’s record to 5-0.
Gonzaga Prep (Washington, D.C.) cornerback
Devin Butler
had three tackles and forced a fumble in a 45-24 loss to Our Lady of Good Counsel.
Absegami High (Absecon, N.J.) athlete
Rashad Kinlaw
continues to sit out with an ankle injury but his team beat Mainland in overtime 14-7.
Eagles Landing Christian (McDonough, Ga.) defensive lineman
Isaac Rochell
continues to deal with a wrist injury but didn’t miss time because it was a bye week, so he made a visit to Notre Dame.
Mead (Spokane, Wash.) outside linebacker
Danny Mattingly
was a key member of the defense in a 32-21 win against Mt. Spokane.
Prosper (Texas) High receiver
Torii Hunter
Jr. made six catches for 150 yards and a touchdown in a 57-0 win against Lake Ridge, then traveled to Notre Dame for the Michigan game and committed before leaving campus.
Colin McGovern
of Lincoln-Way High (New Lenox, Ill.) played on the offensive line ina 16-13 win against Lincoln-Way North.
Cinco Ranch (Katy, Texas) running back
Jamel James
is still nursing a hamstring injury but took advantage of a bye week to visit Notre Dame’s campus for the first time.
Barron Collier (Naples, Fla.) tight end
Mike Heuerman
continued to sit out after having his tonsils removed but his team won 14-6 against Golden Gate.
William Penn Charter (Philadelphia) offensive tackle
Mike McGlinchey
played on both sides of the line of scrimmage in a 36-14 loss to Interboro.
Roman Catholic (Philadelphia) receiver
Will Fuller
had game postponed while holding a 21-14 lead against Bonner-Prednergast. No date to finish the game is scheduled yet.
Woodberry Forest (Va.) linebacker
Doug Randolph
continues to rehab a broken foot and hopes to play in the next few weeks, but his team beat Paul VI 39-14.
Class of 2014 receiver
Justin Brent
of Indianapolis (Ind.) Speedway made four catches for 12 yards and had a 79-yard touchdown run in a 62-6 win against Cascade.
Class of 2014 linebacker Greer Martini of Woodberry Forest (Va.) School made nine tackles in a 39-14 win against Paul VI.
