PITTSBURGH -- After Clairton (Pa.) High won its fifth straight Class A WPIAL title Friday at Heinz Field, and he spoke to FOXSportsNEXT about it. Also, Boyd said he is eying a decision date.
Four-star prospect Tyler Boyd
made an official visit to Pittsburgh
last weekend, and Friday he played at Heinz Field and led Clairton (Pa.) High to its fifth straight class A WPIAL title.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Boyd, who is being recruited to play receiver, rushed for 144 yards and two scores on 16 carries in a 58-21 win against Sto-Rox High (Mc Kees Rocks, Pa.), pushing Clairton's winning streak to 60 games.
Boyd also had two catches for 21 yards, and after the game he spoke with FOXSportsNEXT about his recruitment.
In addition to Pittsburgh, Boyd said he looking at West Virginia, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Arizona. He added Rutgers is also hanging around in his recruitment.
Boyd said his plan is to announce his decision Jan. 5 at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
