Semper Fi Bowl: Cali DB L.J. Moore

L.J. Moore

Fresno (Calif.) Central defensive back L.J. Moore has looked good through the first two days of practice at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl and said he's now down to three schools.

L.J. Moore has been one of the top corners for the West squad through the first two days of practice. He has very good size and athleticism and all the physical tools to be an impact player in college.

"This has been a fun experience for me out here," Moore said. "It's cool to see all these great players, it's like the best of the best and the competition has been really good. There are some good receivers out here, John Ross and Darren Carrington are the two that stick out most for me but they're all really good."

On the recruiting front, Moore said he's down to three schools and has one trip left to take in January.

"I'm down to Oregon State, Notre Dame and Arizona State," Moore said. "Oregon State is still recruiting me the hardest right now and I like them a lot. I have a good relationship with the coaches and especially Rod Perry, the DB coach.

"I had a good visit to Notre Dame and I talk with Coach Denbrock a lot. I know they're filling up but they're still recruiting me and making me feel like I'm a priority. I took an unofficial visit to ASU and really liked it there. They have really come on strong lately and I'm taking an official visit (Jan. 18). That will likely be my last visit and I should be ready to make my decision shortly after that trip."

At one time, Moore mentioned he would be visiting Oklahoma but it doesn't look like that will now be in the cards.

"If I have time I may still take that visit," Moore said. "The other schools in my top three are the ones I'm closest with and the ones recruiting me the hardest so that's why I'm focusing on them."
