>Sunday wasn’t the first time that Enoch Smith Jr., made the trip to West Lafayette.
“It was my third visit to Purdue,” Smith said. “But my first since the new coaching staff has been there.”
The Mount Carmel defensive end made the trip for Sunday’s junior day.
“I had a good time,” Smith said. “We took a tour of the campus and then I had an opportunity to speak with Coach Hazel.”
But that wasn’t all that Smith Jr., enjoyed.
“I also stayed for the basketball game and got to talk to the coaches more,” Smith said. “They just told us how great Purdue was as a whole.”
He added, “My favorite part of the visit was spending time with Coach Hazel and getting to know him.”
?Another draw for Smith with Purdue is the major he is thinking of pursuing.
“I am thinking about Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering as a potential major,” Smith said.
Some things that Smith is looking forward to as he draws closer to his senior year?
“I am looking to get a feel for the school and coaches,” Smith said. “Also if I visit while they are practicing I would like to see how their players accept the coaching.”
And as for a timeline for his decision, Smith Jr., isn’t 100-percent sure when he might pull the trigger and commit.
“I am going day to day,” Smith said. “But there is a 95-percent chance I will commit before my senior season.”
