Sam Mustipher (Offensive Guard 6'3", 286)
Olney (Maryland) Good Counsel
Rank: No. 9 offensive guard, Four-star
Sam Mustipher busted onto the recruiting scene, picking up offers from Clemson, Florida, Maryland Michigan, Ohio State and North Carolina State. He visited Notre Dame
in January of his junior year and picked up an offer.
Mustipher had an early plan to commit before the start of his senior year, and the spring of his junior year saw him take multiple college visits.
Mustipher visited the Irish in the beginning of April with his entire family, and that was the visit that sealed the deal. He was also high on Michigan and Ohio State, but Mustipher decided to commit to Notre Dame less than two weeks after his visit.
Mustipher participated in the Under Armour All-America Game in January. He was recruited by Harry Hiestand.
A solid offensive lineman, Mustipher will bring a competitive edge and a genuine desire to get better under this coaching staff.
"I talk to other recruits on the offensive line that say Coach Hiestand is the best. He's just a down to earth guy. He's not really about his own accolades. When you go into meetings, he doesn't talk about what he's done. He talks about the players he's coached." – Mustipher
"I sat with coach Kelly and he said ‘I wanted to personally inform you that you have $63,000 a year (offer) to attend University of Notre Dame.' Kind of surreal." – Mustipher
