hosted west coast wide out Equanimeous St. Brown on a visit Tuesday and Wednesday.
Prior to his visit, the four-star of Anaheim (Calif.) Servite was regarded to hold Notre Dame near the top of his list, along with Stanford
Notre Dame did nothing to reduce that sentiment the past two days.
"It went great," St. Brown said. "It was everything I expected and more."
St. Brown was joined by his dad, John Brown, two-time Mr. World and three-time Mr. Universe in bodybuilding, along with his two younger brothers. They arrived Tuesday afternoon from visiting Northwestern and Illinois, two schools recruiting St. Brown's younger brother, 2017 wide receiver Osiris St. Brown.
"We got there from Illinois around 3 p.m.," St. Brown said. "We met up with Coach (Bob) Elliott, and he showed us campus and the facilities with a tour guide. It was beautiful. There was so much culture and tradition. I really liked it."
Tuesday night, St. Brown was able to spend time with rising Irish sophomores Max Redfield
and Malik Zaire
"I hung out with Max and Malik in the dorm rooms," St. Brown said. "They gave me the breakdown of what it's like at Notre Dame. They said at Notre Dame you're surrounded by people like you that want to do well in life. That was cool to hear."
On Wednesday, St. Brown had a conversation with Brian Kelly and offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock.
"He (Kelly) was telling me that you can't really understand what Notre Dame is about until you visit, so he was really glad that I did," St. Brown said. "He's excited I'm coming back in the fall."
"Coach Denbrock said that he doesn't just see me as an outside wide receiver, but that I would play in the slot as well to create mismatches with linebackers. He said they would get the ball in my hands as much as possible."
St. Brown will return to Notre Dame for an official visit on Oct. 4, the weekend of the Stanford game and the same weekend of St. Brown's bye weekend.
Earlier this spring, St. Brown named a top three of Notre Dame, Stanford and USC.
"I've stepped back a bit because I want to visit as many schools as possible first," St. Brown said. "I may come out with a top ten at the end of summer. I'll commit after the season."
Next for St. Brown is The Opening in July. He has no other college visits currently scheduled.
St. Brown is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 8 wide receiver in the class of 2015.
