Maurice Crum is starting to make a name for himself. "I have offers from Notre Dame, Auburn, Pittsburgh and West Virginia," said Crum. "Michigan State, Georgia Tech and Florida are some other schools who are recruiting me hard."
Crum had a solid junior season recording over 100 tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 blocked kicks and two sacks. "I've played a lot of positions. I'm going to play strong safety this year but I've mainly played all three linebacker positions. Most schools are recruiting me as a weak-side linebacker."
The Irish recently sent Crum an official offer. "It came last week. I was excited because it's Notre Dame. Everyone knows Notre Dame. It's a football atmosphere and I've been around football my whole life. It's kind of a dream to play in a football atmopshere like that."
Crum is fully qualified with a 3.3 G.P.A and scored 850 on his S.A.T.
"I plan to take all five of my visit," said Crum. I won't make an early decision. It will be late January or February. Distance will not be a problem at all for me. Wherever I feel the most comfortable."
Crum is a very pleasant guy off the field. He says he is a totally different person on the field. "I'm totally different on the field. I just flip, I don't know how. I'm the worst person you've ever met. In life you have to show restraint. In football, you get to be rough and physical and let out all that aggression that you hold back in life."
Education will be the most important factor to Crum. "Education will be important. I want to be a dentist so that will be important. After that, I just want to feel comfortable."
Crum say he has a top five already. "Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Maryland and Florida are my top five right now. I'll take my visits and see what happens.
Comments:: He's a Notre Dame kid all the way. He doesn't know much about Notre Dame. I think once he talks to Willingham he'll be very interested in Notre Dame. The Irish should be in the race."
Linebacker Maurice Crum recently received an offer from Notre Dame. The 6-1, 215-pound Crum has started to receive some offers from some big-time programs and is starting to become a hot prospect. The Tampa, FL native has the Irish in his top five and he says he will likely visit Notre Dame.
