Heygood Names A Leader

Anthony Heygood

Recruiting can sometimes be a rat race but not for Anthony Heygood. The bruising 6'1 210lb RB from suburban Philadelphia is taking his time, and thinking things through thoroughly. Heygood has yet to set up any visits, and will not do so until after his season. Not much has changed since the last time IE interviewed Heygood, but he now claims a leader among the lucky schools recruiting him.

"Not too much has changed" said Anthony Heygood. "I'm still hearing from the same schools." By the same schools, Heygood was referring to Boston College, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Pitt, Purdue and Syracuse.

Heygood has claimed for a while now that a decision will not come from him until after his senior season at which time he'll start taking official visits. However, Heygood does have one team in the lead. "Wisconsin is my leader right now. They are recruiting me the hardest so they're on top."

Notre Dame is still in the picture. "I heard from [Coach Preston] the other day. He called to check on me. He just wanted to see how I was doing, and to find out about my season."

Comments: Notre Dame has yet to offer Heygood a scholarship but they still appear to be interested in him. Heygood camped at Notre Dame over the summer, and really enjoyed South Bend. It is safe to say that if Notre Dame offers, they will jump right into the race. IrishEyes will keep you updated on Heygood in case things change.
