Running back Ryan Fisicaro had a solid junior season before ending his season with an injury.
"I played in nine games before I got injured," said Fisicaro of his junior season. "I had 109 carries, for 721 yards, and seven touchdowns."
Football is not the only sport that Fisicaro excels in.
"I also run track," he said listing 10.75 as his best 100 meter time, and 22.44 as his best 200 meter time.
The Omaha, Neb. native doesn't have an offer at this point, but plenty of top schools are interested.
"Iowa, Iowa State, Notre Dame, Stanford, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska are some of the schools that are recruiting me," said Fisicaro when asked which school are recruiting him the most.
Fisicaro has also visited a few of his favorite schools already.
"I went to junior day at Iowa and Iowa State," he said. "I think I'll go to Iowa's camp. I also plan to go to the Nike camp in Manhattan (Kansas State). I also might go to UCLA and Stanford's camp."
Does Fisicaro have any favorites at this point?
"I don't really have any top schools right now," he said. "Iowa, Iowa State, UCLA, Notre Dame, Stanford, Colorado. Those are some of my favorites."
We asked Fisicaro what he liked about Notre Dame.
"I like the prestige there," he said. "It's a very good school academically and that's important."
Irish fans just found out that former Creighton Prep quarterback Dan Gorski will be walking on at Notre Dame. We asked Fisicaro if he knew Gorski well.
"I know him very well," Fisicaro said. "I talk to him every day. We're pretty good friends."
Living in Nebraska, it's hard to be anything but a Husker fan.
"I did grow up cheering for Nebraska," said Fisicaro. "I've always been a Husker fan. I went to their camp last year, but I'm really open to anyone right now."
Qualifying for college should be no problem for Fisicaro.
"I have a 4.0 right now," said Visicaro when asked what his core g.p.a is. "Academics will be a big part of my decision. After that it will be the relationships I form with the coaches and the atmopshere at the school."
We asked Fisicaro if he planned to make an early decision.
"I really don't know," he said. "I'll probably have a better idea on that after this summer--after I go see some of these schools."
Comments: Fisicaro seemed to have an interest in Notre Dame. I wouldn't classify his interest as strong at this point, however. My guess is that Notre Dame is just one of many schools he's interested in, and his summer tour of schools will give us a better indication as to where the Irish stand. We'll check back with Fisicaro soon to see get his camp plans for the summer. Make sure you click on his name linked above to check out film on Fisicaro.
