Head coach Charlie Weis wanted to wait a week longer with Asaph Schwapp. The sophomore fullback locked up his knee in the win over Penn State and hasn’t seen the field since. After this week’s Stanford contest, Notre Dame has their only bye week of the year and that’s when Weis and his player were going to evaluate the options. But the head coach had seen enough.
