Harrison Smith got a chance to talk with former Notre Dame defensive coordinator Rick Minter shortly after the coach found out his contract would not be renewed. If Smith had any doubts about his future at that point, maybe a thought about another school, Minter continued to sell the Irish, just as he did as Smith’s recruiter.
