Martin to be in South Bend Today

Zach Martin

Indianapolis offensive tackle Zach Martin has been a busy man lately. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Martin has been visiting a number of schools recently, and his latest trip will take him to South Bend, Ind. today to check out the Irish.

"Yea, I'm visiting Notre Dame tomorrow," said Zach Martin. "I wanted to go up there and talk with the coaches some more and get to know more about Notre Dame. I was up there last summer, and I was also there for the USC game, but I didn't get to speak much with the coaches. I spoke to them briefly, and I did speak with them when I got offered, but I don't know as much about Notre Dame right now. I know they have a great tradition there and great academics.

"I've been talking to coach Parmalee, my recruiting coach, and we're just going to tour the campus and get to know the coaches and get a better feel for the place."

Martin also has a few traveling companions on this trip.

"Both my mom and my dad are coming with me," he said. "They're looking forward to it."

The Bishop Chatard high school star has been visiting a lot of schools lately and says his decision is becoming more and more confusing.

"You go to one school and you really like that school," he explained. "Then you go to another school and they open your eyes. I went to Michigan last week, and I really liked it there. I was at Virginia this past weekend and that was really cool. I really liked the campus, and the coaching staff and players were really cool guys. It's kind of hard to narrow it down."

Martin did tell Gobluewolverine.com recently that he is focusing on five schools right now—Michigan, Notre Dame, Virginia, Illinois and Kentucky. He'll visit Notre Dame today and Illinois over the weekend.

"I'd like to see if I can make my decision before my senior season," Martin said. "That may be tough to do. I'm not going to rush it. If I can't make it by then I'll probably take some visits."

We'll check in with Martin after his visit to South Bend to get his reaction to his latest unofficial visit.
