Notre Dame improved to 3-0 on its trip to Ireland with a 100-86 exhibition win over Poland at the Antrim Forum in Belfast on Monday. Junior forward Luke Harangody had his first double-double of the trip with 16 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Fighting Irish, who reached the century-mark for the third straight game.

Senior guard Kyle McAlarney knocked down five more three-pointers and finished with 17 points while junior point guard Tory Jackson had a solid all-around performance with 13 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals. Ryan Ayers put in 12 points to round out Notre Dame’s double-digit scorers.

Notre Dame improved its free throwing shooting from its last outing, draining nine of 11 attempts. As a team the Irish forced 24 turnovers while handing out 21 assists, which is something that particularly pleased head coach Mike Brey.

“I was once again impressed with our unselfishness as a team and the way we have distributed the basketball,” Brey said. “We have really come into these games very focused and I've seen a lot of things from this team that I would expect from a veteran and experienced group. I am seeing a lot of good stuff from this group and have been pleased to see us play with so much intensity each and every night.”

Poland jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but the Irish came back with an 8-0 run and Notre Dame led 22-18 at the end of the first quarter. The Irish broke things open in the second quarter, outscoring Poland 31-17, to take a 53-35 lead at the break.

Zach Hillesland, who finished with nine points, scored Notre Dame’s first five points after intermission as the Irish continued to cruise and led 79-53 heading into the final quarter. The game was out of reach by the fourth and Notre Dame was able to keep its streak of 100-point games intact.

The Irish head to Dublin to complete their trip with games against Ireland, Poland and Iceland in the inaugural Emerald Hoops International Series. Next up for the Irish is Ireland on Thursday night.
