Notre Dame (2-1) wrapped up its opening weekend in Florida with a 9-4 come-from-behind win over Purdue in 10 innings. Brayden Ashdown and Golden Tate led the offensive attack for the Irish.

Trailing to Purdue by three runs with one out in the eighth, the Notre Dame baseball team rallied for three to tie the game in the eighth before scoring five in the 10th as the Irish collected their second victory of the season on Sunday in Clearwater 9-4 in 10 innings.

With two outs in the eighth, junior Brayden Ashdown singled home sophomore Cameron McConnell and junior Casey Martin before he scored on a Mick Doyle single to tie the game 4-4. Ashdown then plated the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th before sophomore Golden Tate roped a two-run double to break the game open.

Junior Steven Mazur earned the victory with two hitless innings of relief ball, including a 1-2-3 frame in the bottom of the 10th. Freshmen relievers Joe Spano and Will Hudgins combined for another two innings of hitless ball as the Irish bullpen did not allow a hit over the final four innings of the contest.

Notre Dame finishes its season-opening weekend in Florida with a 2-1 record and the Irish will head to Arizona next weekend for the Phoenix Classic and games against Gonzaga, Dayton and Creighton.
