Rockhurst High's Tom Freeman is not your regular walk-on.

A week after signing day, the 6-foot-4, 280-pound center from Kansas City, Mo., spurned scholarship offers from Northwestern, South Florida, Duke, Ball State, Army and Navy, to follow his dream and suit up for Notre Dame.

During the recruiting process, former Notre Dame offensive line coach John Latina told Tom Freeman, that because they took two centers in the prior class, that they wouldn’t be taking one this year around.

That won’t stop Freeman, who is the son of former Irish player Tom Freeman Sr., from attending Notre Dame as a preferred walk-on. Normally, a non-scholarship player doesn’t come in with that many offers from other programs.

Watch Freeman’s senior film, and it’s easy to see why six schools offered full-rides.
