Notre Dame wrapped up its trip to San Antonio for the Irish Classic with a pair of wins over Texas-Pan American on Sunday. The Irish beat the Broncos 10-7 in the first game of the day before defeating them 7-2 in the nightcap.

The Irish improve to 10-5 on the season, their best start since 2004 when they started 13-2. Texas-Pan American drops to 3-15 on the season.

Starter Brian Dupra earned the victory in the first contest, allowing four runs over seven innings. Dupra struck out four and walked four while allowing eight hits.

Eric Maust tossed a complete game for the Irish in the second game. Maust allowed just four hits, all singles, and shut the Broncos out in the first six innings before surrendering a pair of meaningless runs in the seventh.

Casey Martin went 4-for-5 with a career-best four RBI in the first game. A.J. Pollock had a pair of hits, knocked in run and scored while David Mills drove in three and scored. It was the second straight game that Notre Dame had 12 hits while eight players had RBI and seven had hits.

Mills had two hits and two RBI in the second game while Golden Tate had a pair of hits and a RBI. Ryne Intlekofer scored a run and drove in three for the Irish.

Notre Dame returns to South Bend for its home opener on St. Patrick’s Day against Ball State. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:05 on Tuesday.
