Stephenson talks about his commitment

Last night, Notre Dame received its 16th commitment of the 2003 class when linebacker/defensive end prospect Dwight Stephenson committed to the Irish. I caught up with Dwight on a very busy day to find out why he chose Notre Dame.

The phone has been ringing off the hook for Dwight and it has been a busy day for this top prospect. ""Yes I did commit to Notre Dame last night. I felt it was a great program and the right fit for me. I felt I fit in well there."

I asked why he reconsidered his Florida commitment? "I just felt I committed to early and I didn't look around enough at the other schools."

Dwight went to ND with his Mom and Aunt. I asked him what he thought about Coach Willingham and the staff? "I was very impressed and so was my Mom and Aunt. I think everyone is really happy for me."

Dwight confirmed that he is a solid commitment to Notre Dame and he should be another great prospect for the Irish next fall.
