On the Radar?

There has been a lot of discussion coming from the Notre Dame communities regarding Dyjuan Lewis from Pike High School (Indianapolis, Ind.) The wide receiver had committed to Brian Kelly and Cincinnati, but since Kelly left for the head coaching job at Notre Dame, Lewis has opened up his recruitment.

Dyjuan Lewis (6-foot-2, 197-pounds) liked what Brian Kelly and his staff had been able to accomplish at Cincinnati, so when Kelly moved to Notre Dame Lewis opened started listening to other schools that began contacting him.

"Oregon, Kentucky and Purdue," Lewis responded when asked to list the schools that have contacted to him. "I really haven't been talking to anyone that last couple weeks. I'm looking at other schools, but I'm not really focusing on recruiting. I'm focusing on my grades and trying to take care of school. Notre Dame fans have wondered if the Irish would get involved with Lewis now that coach Kelly and Charley Molnar are in South Bend. Although they have not been in touch with Dyjuan, he does have interest in Notre Dame.

"No, not yet," Lewis said when asked if the Irish had contacted him. ""I like the history of the football team and coach Kelly.

"I've talked to coach Molnar (when he was at Cincinnati). He's a good person. He knows what he's talking about. He knows how to coach receivers. I had a good bond with him, because he was recruiting me for a long time."

At this time Lewis has not scheduled any official visits, but he recently took one to Cincinnati.

"None planned," he said. "I already came back from Cincinnati last weekend. It was a good trip. I had a good time getting to know the new coaching staff. We just visited with the players, went out to eat and met with the coaches.

"I'm going to try to (visit other schools), but like I said, I'm going to focus on school worry about (recruiting) later."
