New Canaan, Conn., native Conor Hanratty sent a text message to Scout.com recently letting us know…
Everything Worked Out for Hanratty
"I met with all the coaches," Hanratty said on Saturday shortly after committing to the Irish staff. "I got a really good vibe from it… it went great. The one component that was missing is I hadn't met with coach Kelly. I met with him (on Saturday) for about 20 minutes and he just wowed me. He's one of the best coaches that I'd met and he fit the puzzle perfectly and that was the deciding factor right there."
Growing up in a Notre Dame family certainly made an impact on Conor's decision, but throughout the recruiting process he tired to separate his emotions from the decision making process.
"I've always been biased toward Notre Dame, but on my visits I tried as hard as I could to keep that on the side and tried to treat Notre Dame just like any other school," he said. "I did that and it all worked out, because it's such a great school and I knew that I belonged here.
"Everything feels great. I met a bunch of the committed players and they're all cool guys. I think we have a real good class going right now."
