2005: Harris will once again set up at the left tackle spot for the Irish this year. He is a very intelligent player; has exceptional feet, sets up well for pass protection and is an incredibly gifted athlete. Maybe we expect a little too much from Ryan, but we think he needs to take his level of play up a notch. He’s a very good in pass protection, but he needs to become a more powerful run blocker and become more consistent at finishing his blocks on running plays. He’s still relatively young and with another year in the weight room, he should elevate his game under coach Latina.
2004: As expected, Harris moved from right tackle to left tackle, where he started all 12 games. He had a pretty good sophomore year, although we think there were times Ryan struggled and he wasn’t dominant. He played the 3rd most minutes along the offensive line. Notre Dame ran a tackle eligible screen to Ryan in the Michigan game that went incomplete and against Oregon St, that was completed for 3 yards.
2003: Another bright spot for the Irish in 2003'. Ryan came in with high expectations and quickly lived up to them by earning the starting right tackle spot by the 5th game(Pitt). Harris ended up starting the remaining seven games and helped solidify the right side of the offensive line that had struggled up to that point.
High School: Insiders #7 ranked OL. Played in U.S. Army All America game. USA Today 1st team All-American. 51st on ESPN list of top 100 Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Played offensive and defensive tackle. Attended the same high school as Marcus Freeman and Rashon Powers-Neal. He was featured on MTV and wants to be President...and he is serious.
Final Schools: Miami, Minn, Wisc, Iowa, USC
