2005: Landri will team up with Trevor Laws to have one of the best interior tandems Notre Dame has had is years. Landri’s asset is his ability to get off the ball quickly. He’s a little undersized, but makes up for that with incredible effort. We expect Derek to have a monster year and recommend that Irish fans watch #66 on defense because he just gets after it..

2004: Landri had an outstanding year as the starting defensive tackle. The defense was #5 in the nation against the run, allowing just 88 yards per game. He was 9th on the team in tackles (40) and second among defensive linemen. He had a career high 7 tackles against BC and had a great game against Tennessee, as the Irish shut down the Volunteer running game. This year he showed why he was one of the most highly recruited players coming out of high school.

2003: Landri made his first career appearance as a starter against WSU at NG. He had a solid season rotating in along the defensive line...appearing in 10 games. Derek recovered a fumble in ND's win at Pittsburgh.

2002: Did not play as a freshman. Landri was recovering from an injury so he was somewhat limited throughout the season. He suffered the injury prior to reporting to ND.

High School: Ranked #2 DT by Insiders. USA Today 1st team All-American, Parade All-American...rated top lineman on Parade squad. Rated 5th on CNNSI.com list of top 101 prospects. 48th on The Sporting News' Hot 101 list. . . . California Mr. Football State Player of the Year. He recorded a 4.19 shuttle time at a Nike football camp 130 tackles (55 solo), 9.5 sacks. Started 37 straight games 80 tackles, 17 sacks and knocked down 12 passes as junior ..also a three-year starter on offense.
