| Dietrich Riley finished his junior season with over 1,300 yards rushing, around 200 yards receiving for a total of 13 touchdowns. Defensively, he had 50 tackles, three sacks, two fumbles caused and one interception. Riley says he can bench 270-pounds, squat 350 and has a 37-inch vertical jump.
As a sophomore at La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis, Riley rushed for 840 yards and five touchdowns and had 132 catches for a touchdown with 48 tackles, two sacks and a pick.
Was an all-Mission League selection as a freshman in 2006, averaging 87.6 yards a game and scoring three touchdowns.
Partial senior (6-1) stats: over 500 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns; five touchdowns receiving
Riley says he’s thinking about majoring in either business, communications or psychology. He reports a 2.5 core GPA and although he took the SAT in June, he doesn’t know his score.
Riley: “I’m a serious offensive and defensive threat. I have great speed and you can’t teach that.
“I’m big and powerful, but can read plays well before they develop and play smart. I always go 400-percent, not 100-percent, 400-percent!
“I love football. This is what I do. I’m always thinking about football. I even sleep with a football.
“I still think that I can get faster. I’m working on my lateral speed and movement sideline-to-sideline.
“I also want to improve on my technique and cover skills. I should probably be more patient on defense and get stronger too.”
