Spartans Take State 7-on-7 Title, Eagles for Consulation
It was a long and tough weekend, but two Houston area squads finished at the top of the State 7-on-7 tournament in College Station. Seven Lakes came away with a 42-25 win over Whitehouse in the championship game while Cy Falls defeated College Station in the consolation game 33-27. Seven Lakes coach Lydell Wilson was more than excited for the results from his players, but quickly focused on the bigger mission.

“The kids played well and this is a good builder for the season,” Wilson said. “This win is good, but nothing counts without pads.”

Boys Trip to ‘Bama
Five-star defensive back Kendall Sheffield from Marshall, Lamar four-star cornerback Holton Hill and 2016 Manvel defensive back Deontay Anderson were all in Alabama for the July camp in Tuscaloosa. For Sheffield, his next stop will be to LSU in the coming weeks, Hill will be off to Florida State and end at Texas this weekend. Anderson left and made his way to Mississippi State.
